"God pardon me! And man meddle not with me: I have her, and will hold her."-Edward Rochester,  Jane Eyre If you are anything like me, you have at some point found yourself enraptured in the pages of   Jane Eyre . You've cried with Jane, loved Mr. Rochester, and hated him at the same time. You've been held captive by the haunting, romantic, tragic tale at every turn of the page.  I've read  Jane Eyre  so many times that my faithful copy of the story is starting to fall apart. The first time I read it, I was doubtful. Don't get me wrong, I was a fan of Victorian era love stories as much as the next girl, (Lord knows, I've read  Pride and Prejudice  too many times to count), bu t  Jane Eyre  seemed waaaaaaaay too long for a love story. I thought it would probably be kind of boring. Of course, after I finished reading it the first time, I immediately flipped back to the beginning and started reading it again.
